Why buy a UK-produced showjumper for the Danish market
Denmark has a well-established sport-horse culture, home to the Danish Warmblood (DWB), and Danish buyers prize rideability, temperament and careful jumping. A UK-produced jumper fits because it is brought on patiently and honestly, ready for competitive work. Buying from the UK widens the pool of well-produced horses available to Danish riders, with transparent provenance and value.
Importing a sport horse to Denmark — the real logistics
Since Brexit a UK horse enters Denmark as a third-country import, and we manage every step. We arrange the pre-export veterinary inspection and bloods, register the move on TRACES NT, obtain the export health certificate, and book an EU-approved transporter. Horses travel by road and Channel crossing through northern Europe into Denmark via the fixed-link bridges; journeys are completed within a few days, door to door.
How Horses Smith works
Danish clients often start on video with honest commentary, full veterinary history and pedigree, and are welcome to try in Kent. Independent pre-purchase vetting by a veterinarian of your choice is encouraged. We then handle export paperwork, customs and white-glove transport to your yard, and stay available for aftercare.
Prices in EUR on application. Horses measured in centimetres (hands in brackets).
