Why buy a UK-produced showjumper for the German market
A British-produced jumper suits the German market because it is brought on the same way German riders expect: correct flatwork, careful gymnastic jumping, and honest exposure to competition. Germany is the home of the Hanoverian, Holsteiner and Oldenburg studbooks, so buyers here know quality, and our horses are produced to meet that eye. Buying from the UK simply widens the pool of well-produced, fairly priced horses available to you.
Importing a sport horse to Germany — the real logistics
Since Brexit, moving a horse from the UK to Germany is a third-country export and needs the correct paperwork, but it is routine and we handle all of it. We arrange the pre-export veterinary inspection and blood tests, register the move on TRACES NT (the EU trade-control system), obtain the export health certificate, and book an EU-approved equine transporter. Horses travel by road and Channel crossing, typically reaching Germany within a few days, cleared and fully documented.
How Horses Smith works
Most German clients begin on video: full work, conformation and honest commentary, backed by veterinary history and pedigree, with a yard visit to Kent welcome at any point. Every horse can be vetted by an independent veterinarian of your choice before purchase. We then manage export, customs and white-glove transport door to door, and stay available for aftercare once your horse is home.
Prices in EUR on application. Horses measured in centimetres (hands in brackets).
