Breeding is a language.
We speak it fluently.
Horses Smith was founded from a genuine love of the sport and a belief that buying an exceptional horse should be a more considered and transparent experience.
From our home at Mannering House in Kent, we breed and source showjumping horses from some of the most respected and exciting bloodlines in Europe. Pedigree is important to us, but it is only ever the beginning.
We take great care in understanding the horse behind the breeding. The strength of the dam line, conformation, movement, temperament and natural ability all matter. So too does how a horse has been raised, handled and cared for from its earliest days.
Some of our horses are bred by us, while others are carefully sourced. In either case, the principle remains the same. Every horse at Horses Smith is here because we believe in it.
LONDON.That same philosophy extends to the way we sell our horses.
“We believe prospective owners should be given the information we would want ourselves. Full pedigrees, genuine video, clear pricing and an honest account of what we know about each horse. We will tell you what excites us, but we will also tell you what we do not know.”
There are no guarantees in breeding. That is part of what makes producing a truly exceptional horse so extraordinary. Our responsibility is simply to make every decision with care, to give our horses the very best start we can, and to be honest with the people who choose to buy from us.
From the foaling paddock to the highest levels of international sport, our ambition remains the same: to breed and discover exceptional horses, and to do so with integrity.
